This is the first gallery of our road trip, we left home on 6th August 2007 and arrived in Calais on 7th August. We then went to the Normandy beaches, la Rochelle, Lege Cap Ferret, Bergerac and then Chamonix on 23rd August.
The American cemetery in Arromanches, below the cemetery the Omaha beach where so many men lost their lives. The weather wasn't kind to us on the day we visited, but it seemed appropriate some how. We would certainly defy anyone to walk amongst the graves and not be moved.
